Dutch Spice Cake

IngrediŰnts Preparation

 

2 cups of self rising flour 

Preheat oven on 175║ Celsius (350║ Fahrenheit).

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

Combine all the ingredients to a smooth paste.

1/3 cup treacle

Butter an oblong 8" x 3" cake-tin or bread-tin.

1 cup milk

Fill it with the dough , let space for the rising.

1 teaspoon grounded cloves

Bake the spicy cake   for 1 hour in the oven.
1 teaspoon cinnamon Let it cool down in the tin and wait 24 hours.
1 teaspoon ginger Serve it in thick slices with real good butter.
1 teaspoon nutmeg Also to use on a slice of whole wheat bread.
4 gram salt The Dutch like to eat this in the morning for breakfast.
